Let's talk about porridge

One thing in life that I could not do without is porridge.

This healthy bowl of goodness is ideal for breakfast, and keeps you going and full until lunch time.

I tend to work out early in the morning before breakfast, and the thought of my bowl of porridge at the end is what keeps me motivated.

Especially as it’s gotten so cold recently, porridge really is the best breakfast out there. You might be thinking: “really? porridge? that’s so boring!” You couldn’t be more wrong.

I’m not talking about a bog standard bowl of oats and milk, popped in the microwave for two minutes. I’m talking creamy jumbo oats, topped with exciting fruits and berries and covered in sweet cinnamon or succulent honey.

So… without further ado, here are some ideas on how to make your bowl of porridge incredible. Soon you’ll be wanting porridge for every meal.

  1. Jumbo oats are a must – can buy in any supermarket and just taste better

  2. Soak oats overnight with chai seeds– put in a bowl of water in fridge overnight and drain before adding milk and putting in pan. Makes them more creamy and yummy.

  3. Go bananas– mash up some bananas and add with milk in pan

  4. Use almond milk– healthier than normal milk and gives sweeter taste

  5. Hob not microwave– bit more washing up but tastes better!
